June 4th-A TWIN BILL!
Featuring JAY CLARK & JIMMY DAVIS!
Jay Clark has become a regional phenomenon. Growing up in Winchester, Tennessee and playing guitar during his high school years, Jay has been actively involved in songwriting and performing since 1992 and has built a devoted and diverse fan base. No wonder. He has performed at Dollywood and various bluegrass festivals with Keith Garrett (currently with Blue Moon Rising), and even helped form a traditional bluegrass band, The Stringbeans. You've probably seen him onstage with Robinella and the CC Stringband, or sharing the billing with the John Cowan Band, Malcolm Holcomb, Sally Barris, Jeff Barbra and Sarah Pirkle or Billy Joe Shaver. If you're lucky, you've caught him performing his original material at venues all over Knoxville, from the Corner Lounge to the World's Fair Site.  In any case, if you've seen him once, you know darned well that you want to see him again. Simply put, Clark is infectious.
Jimmy Davis, a versatile singer-songwriter, named "Premier Male Vocalist" five times by the Memphis Chapter of the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences, knows no boundaries when it comes to musical styles. Influences range from The Beatles to the Eagles, Johnny Cash and Gram Parsons to Jackson Browne. His songs have been recorded by Martina McBride, Restless Heart, Joy White, Johnny Rivers, as well as many other independent artists. Davis has appeared as a backing vocalist on numerous recordings by artists such as Johnny Lang, former Eagle Bernie Leadon, Danny Tate, Eric Gales, William Lee Golden, Mark Collie, Keith Sykes, Iris DeMent, Cory Branan, Susan Marshall, John Eddie, and the late Toy Caldwell. But it’s Jimmy’s charisma, warmth and talent as a performer that make him stand out among his well known peers. But when it all comes down to it, whether picking his guitar around a campfire or writing a soundtrack for an oscar winning film maker, Jimmy Davis continues his musical journey and the emerging legacy of a new Memphis sound.
